Description
Crispy air fryer bacon mac and cheese with perfectly melted cheese and smoky bacon pieces. Ready in just 20 minutes!
Ingredients
8 oz elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
6 strips thick-cut bacon
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
4 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh chives for garnish
Instructions
1. Cook bacon in air fryer at 375°F for 6 minutes until 75% done. Chop and set aside.
2. Make cheese sauce by melting butter in saucepan, whisking in flour, then gradually adding milk.
3. Add cheeses, mustard, and seasonings to create smooth sauce.
4. Combine cooked macaroni with cheese sauce and half the bacon.
5. Transfer mixture to 6-inch air fryer-safe baking dish.
6. Top with remaining bacon and extra cheese.
7. Cover with foil and air fry at 350°F for 12 minutes.
8. Remove foil and continue cooking 5-8 minutes until golden brown.
9. Let rest 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh chives.

Use freshly grated cheese for smoothest melting
