Description

Crispy bacon wrapped around tender chicken pieces, glazed with sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. These irresistible appetizer bites are perfect for parties, game day, or any gathering. Ready in just 30 minutes with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 lb thin-cut bacon, sliced in half

1 cup BBQ sauce (divided)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

1 tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning

Toothpicks for securing

Extra BBQ sauce for dipping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or prepare grill for medium heat

2. Cut chicken breasts into uniform 1-inch cubes and season with Montreal steak seasoning

3. Cut bacon slices in half to create smaller pieces for wrapping

4. Wrap each chicken cube with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick

5. Arrange wrapped chicken bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper

6. In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup BBQ sauce with brown sugar, chili powder, and cayenne pepper

7. Brush the BBQ sauce mixture over each wrapped chicken bite

8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning once halfway through, until bacon is crispy and chicken is cooked through (internal temperature 165°F)

9. During last 5 minutes, brush with remaining BBQ sauce for extra glaze

10. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving

11. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce for dipping

Notes

For crispier bacon, partially cook bacon strips for 2-3 minutes before wrapping chicken

Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated until ready to cook

For grilling, cook over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, turning frequently

Store leftovers in refrigerator for 3-4 days; reheat in oven to maintain crispiness

Try different bacon varieties like applewood-smoked or peppered for unique flavors
