Description

These homemade Big Mac Wraps deliver all the iconic flavors of the classic fast food burger in a convenient, handheld format! Seasoned ground beef, special sauce, crisp vegetables, and pickles are rolled up in warm flour tortillas for a satisfying meal that’s ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual entertaining when you’re craving that signature taste without the drive-thru!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 6 large flour tortillas (8-inch)
  • ½ cup shredded iceberg lettuce
  • ¼ cup finely diced white onion
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 pickle slices, halved
  • ¼ cup Thousand Island dressing (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper

Homemade Special Sauce:

  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • Pinch of paprika

Instructions

  • If making homemade special sauce, whisk together mayo, ketchup, relish, vinegar, and paprika in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil, then crumble in ground beef. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook beef, breaking it into small pieces, until fully browned and no pink remains (about 6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat but leave some for flavor.
  • While beef finishes cooking, warm tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat, about 15 seconds per side, until pliable and lightly toasted. Keep warm under a clean kitchen towel.
  • To assemble each wrap, lay a warm tortilla on your work surface and spread about 1 Tbsp of special sauce (or Thousand Island dressing) across the center.
  • Add approximately ¼ cup of cooked beef on top of the sauce.
  • Layer with shredded lettuce, diced onion, and about 1-2 Tbsp of shredded cheese.
  • Place two pickle halves on top.
  • Fold the bottom edge of the tortilla up over the filling, then fold in the sides and continue rolling from the bottom up, keeping sides tucked in.
  • For a secure wrap, briefly return to the dry skillet seam-side down for about 30 seconds.
  • Slice each wrap diagonally through the center before serving.

Notes

  • For an authentic Big Mac flavor, don’t skip the pickles! They provide that essential tangy contrast to the richness of the beef and sauce.
  • Warming the tortillas is crucial—this prevents cracking and makes them more pliable for rolling.
  • The special sauce can be made up to 3 days ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • For extra flavor, try brushing the tortillas with melted butter before warming.
  • Customize the heat level by adding hot sauce to the special sauce or mixing in diced jalapeños with the beef.
