Description

This Bourbon Glazed Bacon & Gouda Sandwich is a delightful combination of crispy bacon, creamy Gouda cheese, and a sweet bourbon glaze, all served on toasted bread. Perfect for brunch or a hearty lunch!

Ingredients

Scale

4 slices of thick-cut bacon

2 slices of Gouda cheese

2 slices of sourdough bread

2 tablespoons of bourbon

2 tablespoons of brown sugar

1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon of butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

2. In the same skillet, add bourbon, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens slightly.

3. Toast the sourdough bread in the skillet until golden brown.

4. Layer bacon and Gouda cheese on one slice of toasted bread.

5. Drizzle the bourbon glaze over the cheese and top with the second slice of bread.

6. Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill until golden and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Notes

Feel free to add some fresh arugula or sliced tomatoes for added flavor and freshness. This sandwich pairs beautifully with a side of pickles or potato chips.
