Description

These Caramel Apple Cider BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders combine sweet caramel and apple cider with savory BBQ pulled pork and melted cheddar cheese. Perfect for fall gatherings, parties, or weeknight dinners. Crafted for discerning home chefs seeking restaurant-quality results with minimal effort using a slow cooker.

Ingredients

Scale

2 lbs boneless pork shoulder

1 cup apple cider

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (plus extra for serving)

1/4 cup caramel sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

12 Hawaiian rolls

Optional: coleslaw for topping

Optional: pickle slices for topping

Instructions

1. Place pork shoulder in slow cooker or crockpot.

2. Pour apple cider and BBQ sauce over the pork, ensuring it’s well-coated.

3. Cook on low heat for 8 hours until pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

4. Remove pork from slow cooker and shred using two forks.

5. Mix shredded pork with caramel sauce in a large bowl until well combined.

6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

7. Slice Hawaiian rolls in half and place bottoms on a baking sheet.

8. Spoon caramel BBQ pork mixture generously onto each roll bottom.

9. Top each slider with shredded cheddar cheese.

10. Bake for 8-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.

11. Add slider tops and serve immediately with optional coleslaw or pickles.

Notes

For best results, use a fresh, high-quality pork shoulder and real cheddar cheese for optimal melting.

The pork can be prepared a day ahead and reheated before assembling sliders.

Adjust caramel sauce amount based on your sweetness preference.

These sliders pair perfectly with coleslaw for a crunchy contrast to the tender pork.
