Description

Sweet meets savory in these incredible cinnamon sugar bacon donuts topped with rich bourbon whipped cream. Perfect for brunch or special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/3 cup milk

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

8 strips premium bacon, cooked crispy

1/2 cup cinnamon sugar mixture

1 cup heavy whipping cream

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

2 tablespoons bourbon whiskey

Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in large bowl

2. Whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla in separate bowl

3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed

4. Roll dough on floured surface to 1/2 inch thickness

5. Cut into donut shapes using donut cutter

6. Heat oil to 175-190°F in deep fryer or heavy pot

7. Fry donuts 2 minutes per side until golden brown

8. Drain on wire rack with paper towels

9. Toss warm donuts in cinnamon sugar mixture

10. Whip cream until soft peaks form

11. Add powdered sugar and bourbon, whip until stiff

12. Top donuts with bourbon whipped cream

13. Garnish with crumbled crispy bacon

Notes

Use thermometer to maintain proper oil temperature

Donuts are best served fresh and warm

Store leftover donuts in airtight container up to 2 days

Bourbonwhipped cream should be made fresh before serving
