Description
A unique gourmet dessert burger combining cinnamon sugar churros, toasted marshmallows, and molten chocolate center in a creative s’mores-inspired treat. Crafted for discerning home chefs seeking an indulgent show-stopping dessert that impresses at parties and special occasions.
Ingredients
6–8 pre-made churros
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
6–8 large marshmallows
1 cup high-quality chocolate chips
1/4 cup heavy cream
6–8 hamburger buns (brioche or potato buns work best)
Additional chocolate chips for garnish
Fresh strawberries for serving (optional)
Sea salt flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice hamburger buns in half and toast them in the oven for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and set aside.
2. In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined. Set your cinnamon sugar mixture aside.
3. Warm pre-made churros according to package directions (typically 3-4 minutes in the oven or air fryer). While still warm, roll each churro generously in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.
4. Prepare the molten chocolate center: In a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and heavy cream. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until smooth and glossy. Keep warm.
5. Toast marshmallows using a kitchen torch, over a gas stovetop flame, or under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until golden brown with charred edges.
6. Assemble your dessert burgers: Place bottom bun on a plate, add one cinnamon-sugar coated churro, drizzle generously with molten chocolate sauce, top with toasted marshmallow, add another small drizzle of chocolate, and finish with the top bun.
7. Serve immediately while the chocolate is still molten and the churros are warm. Garnish with fresh strawberries, extra chocolate drizzle, or a sprinkle of sea salt if desired.
Notes
For best results, assemble burgers immediately before serving to maintain the optimal temperature and texture contrast.
If churros become too crispy, wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften slightly.
The molten chocolate center can be kept warm in a double boiler or fondue pot during serving.
Customization ideas: Try dark chocolate, white chocolate, or add a splash of Kahlua or Bailey’s to the chocolate sauce for an adult version.
Make it a dessert bar: Set up all components separately and let guests build their own churro s’mores burgers with various toppings like caramel sauce, crushed nuts, or coconut flakes.
