Description

A showstopping holiday appetizer featuring a wheel of creamy Brie wrapped in golden puff pastry and topped with a sweet-tart cranberry-pecan mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) wheel Brie cheese

  • ½ cup whole berry cranberry sauce

  • ¼ cup pecans, toasted and chopped

  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup

  • Pinch of ground cinnamon

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  • Crackers, apple or pear slices, for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 °F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • On a lightly floured surface, gently roll puff pastry just to smooth fold lines.

  • Place Brie in the center of the pastry.

  • In a small bowl, stir together cranberry sauce, pecans, brown sugar, maple syrup, and cinnamon.

  • Spoon the cranberry-pecan mixture atop the Brie.

  • Fold pastry up and around the cheese, trimming excess and pinching seams to seal.

  • Flip sealed Brie, seam-side down, onto the prepared sheet.

  • Whisk egg with 1 tsp water. Brush pastry all over with egg wash.

  • Bake 20–25 minutes, until pastry is puffed and golden.

  • Let rest 5–10 minutes before transferring to a serving board.

Notes

    • For easier handling, chill Brie 10–15 minutes before wrapping.

    • Assemble up to 24 hours ahead; apply egg wash just before baking.

    • To freeze prepped Brie: wrap tightly (no egg wash) and freeze up to 1 month. Thaw overnight, then bake.
