Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 8 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cheddar cheese soup
- ½ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tube refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
- Optional toppings: chopped pickles, green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Fire that oven up to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
- Brown the Beef: In a big ol’ skillet, cook your ground beef and diced onion over medium-high heat. Once browned and the onions are soft, drain off any grease. Stir in Worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
- Make it Saucy: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cheddar cheese soup, milk, ketchup, and mustard until smooth. Stir it into your beef mixture until everything’s coated in that creamy, tangy goodness.
- Add the Bacon and Cheese: Fold in half the cheddar, all the mozzarella, and most of your crumbled bacon (save a handful for topping later).
- Biscuit Layer: Toss those biscuit pieces into the bottom of the greased casserole dish. Pour your beefy-cheesy mixture right over the top and gently spread it out.
- Top and Bake: Sprinkle on the remaining cheddar cheese and bacon. If you’re feeling fancy, toss on some sesame seeds for that burger bun vibe.
- Bake It Up: Pop it in the oven and bake for about 25–30 minutes, or until bubbly, golden, and those biscuit pieces are cooked through and puffed up.
- Serve It Hot: Let it rest a few minutes before scooping. Serve with diced pickles and green onions if you’re feelin’ wild.
