Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (10.5 oz) can condensed cheddar cheese soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 3 cups cooked elbow macaroni
- Optional toppings: diced pickles, green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish and set it aside.
- Brown the beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the meat is browned and the onion is soft, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Season it up: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Give it a taste and adjust as needed.
- Mix the sauce: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cheddar cheese soup, milk, ketchup, and mustard. Whisk it until smooth and creamy.
- Bring it all together: Add the cooked macaroni, beef mixture, half the crumbled bacon, 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, and the mozzarella to the sauce. Stir everything together until well combined.
- Assemble the casserole: Pour the cheesy beef mixture into your greased casserole dish. Smooth out the top and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese and bacon evenly over it.
- Bake it up: Pop it in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.
- Garnish & serve: Sprinkle diced pickles, green onions, or even sesame seeds on top if you like that classic cheeseburger vibe.
