Description
Fiery Jalapeño Popper Smash Burger combines the spicy kick of jalapeño poppers with a perfectly crispy smash burger technique. Crafted for discerning home chefs seeking restaurant-quality results with bold, indulgent flavors.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
4 large fresh jalapeños, sliced into rings
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
4 brioche hamburger buns
4 slices thick-cut bacon
Fresh lettuce leaves
2 large tomato slices
Butter for buns
Salt and black pepper to taste
Optional: garlic aioli or spicy mayo
Instructions
1. Preheat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat
2. Form ground beef into 4 loose balls, season with salt and pepper
3. Place beef balls on hot surface and immediately smash with spatula to create thin patties
4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy crust forms, then flip
5. Top each patty with shredded cheddar cheese and jalapeño rings
6. Cook for another 2 minutes until cheese melts
7. Toast brioche buns with butter until golden
8. Crisp bacon in same pan until perfectly cooked
9. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, patty with cheese and jalapeños, bacon, lettuce, tomato, top bun
10. Serve immediately while cheese is still melting
Notes
For extra heat, leave seeds in jalapeños or add a dash of hot sauce to the beef.
The key to perfect smash burgers is high heat and not pressing the patty after the initial smash.
Freshly shredded cheese melts better than pre-shredded varieties.
