Description

Harvest Apple Cider Pork Chops with Maple Bourbon Glaze – a perfect autumn dish combining sweet apple cider, rich maple syrup, and smooth bourbon for an unforgettable fall dinner. Crafted for discerning home chefs seeking restaurant-quality results with seasonal ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

4 thick-cut pork chops (bone-in preferred)

1 cup apple cider

1/4 cup pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons bourbon

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon butter

Fresh thyme for garnish

Apple slices for garnish

Instructions

1. In a bowl, whisk together apple cider, maple syrup, bourbon, cinnamon, nutmeg, garlic powder, and onion powder to create the marinade.

2. Place pork chops in a shallow dish and pour marinade over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

3. Remove pork chops from marinade and pat dry. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Reserve marinade for glaze.

4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

5. Sear pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 145°F.

6. Remove pork chops and let rest. Add butter to the same skillet.

7. Pour reserved marinade into skillet and simmer for 5-7 minutes until reduced and glossy.

8. Return pork chops to skillet and brush with glaze.

9. Garnish with fresh thyme and apple slices before serving.

Notes

For best results, use thick-cut bone-in pork chops as they retain moisture better and provide superior flavor.

Marinating overnight enhances the flavor profile significantly – plan ahead for optimal results.

Don’t overcook the pork chops – they should reach an internal temperature of 145°F and rest for 3 minutes.

The glaze should be glossy and coat the back of a spoon when properly reduced.
