Description

This Jack Daniels Honey Glazed Meatloaf Wrapped in Bacon combines the deep flavors of bourbon whiskey with sweet honey glaze and crispy bacon. It’s a gourmet twist on classic comfort food that delivers restaurant-quality results at home.

Ingredients

Scale

2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

1/2 cup Jack Daniels whiskey (divided)

1/4 cup honey

810 bacon strips

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 large eggs

1/4 cup ketchup

1 diced onion

2 minced garlic cloves

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/2 cup ketchup (for glaze)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan or baking sheet with parchment paper

2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, 1/4 cup Jack Daniels, diced onion, minced garlic, salt and pepper

3. Mix ingredients gently with hands until just combined – avoid overmixing to prevent tough texture

4. Shape mixture into a loaf and place on prepared baking sheet

5. Lay bacon strips over the meatloaf, creating a lattice pattern for even coverage

6. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup ketchup, remaining Jack Daniels, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce for glaze

7. Bake for 45 minutes, then brush with half the glaze mixture

8. Continue baking for 30-45 minutes more, brushing with remaining glaze in final 15 minutes

9. Check internal temperature reaches 160°F with meat thermometer

10. Let rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing to retain juices

Notes

For best results, use a meat blend of 80% lean ground beef for optimal flavor and moisture

Don’t overmix the meat mixture to avoid dense texture

Let meatloaf rest after cooking to prevent juices from running out when sliced

Store leftovers in refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months

Reheat in oven at 350°F until internal temperature reaches 165°F
