This towering Double-Decker Bacon Mac & Cheese Smash Burger combines crispy caramelized beef patties with creamy pasta and smoky toppings, finished with a tangy BBQ ranch swirl. Perfect for special occasions or indulgent weekend meals.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
4 slices American cheese
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 brioche burger buns
2 tbsp butter for toasting
6 slices crispy bacon
1 cup cooked macaroni pasta
1/2 cup cheese sauce
Sliced dill pickles
BBQ ranch swirl sauce
Instructions
1. Divide ground beef into four 4-ounce balls and chill for 10 minutes
2. Preheat cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking
3. Butter both halves of burger buns and toast until golden
4. Place beef ball on skillet and press firmly with spatula for 3 seconds to create 1/4-inch patties
5. Cook patties untouched for 90 seconds until deep brown edges form
6. Flip patties and cook additional 60 seconds, add cheese slices
7. Layer bottom bun with first patty, add mac and cheese, then second patty
8. Top with crispy bacon and pickles
9. Drizzle BBQ ranch swirl over top
10. Crown with top bun and serve immediately
