Description
Gourmet whiskey-glazed mushroom Swiss smash burger with garlic butter drizzle. This craft burger combines rich whiskey-glazed mushrooms, melted Swiss cheese, and aromatic garlic butter for an elevated dining experience.
Ingredients
1 lb 80/20 ground chuck beef
8 oz fresh cremini mushrooms, sliced
4 slices high-quality Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons whiskey
4 tablespoons butter, divided
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped
4 brioche burger buns
Instructions
1. Heat cast-iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat
2. Form ground beef into 4 loose balls, season with salt and pepper
3. Sauté mushrooms in 2 tablespoons butter until tender and lightly browned
4. Add whiskey, brown sugar, and soy sauce to mushrooms, cook until glazed
5. Mix remaining butter with minced garlic and parsley for drizzle
6. Place beef balls on hot skillet, smash down with spatula to create thin patties
7. Cook for 2-3 minutes until crispy crust forms, flip and cook 1 minute more
8. Add Swiss cheese slices on top of patties, let melt
9. Toast burger buns lightly
10. Assemble: bottom bun, garlic butter drizzle, burger patty with cheese, whiskey-glazed mushrooms, top bun
Notes
Use 80/20 ground chuck for optimal juiciness and flavor
Don’t overwork the beef when forming patties
Make sure skillet is very hot before smashing patties for best crust
Whiskey will flame briefly when added to mushrooms – this is normal
Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 2 days
