This Oktoberfest-inspired pizza combines savory sausages, tangy sauerkraut, and melty cheese for a delicious twist on classic flavors. Perfect for a cozy gathering or a festive celebration!
Ingredients
1 pound pizza dough
1 cup sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
8 ounces German sausage or bratwurst, cooked and sliced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 cup yellow mustard
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
2. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
3. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
4. Spread the yellow mustard evenly over the dough as the base sauce.
5. Evenly distribute the sauerkraut over the mustard layer.
6. Add the sliced sausage or bratwurst on top of the sauerkraut.
7. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Swiss cheese evenly over the sausage.
8. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle caraway seeds if using.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
10. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing and serving.
