Description

These Philly Cheesesteak Sliders with Grilled Onions bring all the classic flavors of Philadelphia’s iconic sandwich in perfect party-sized portions. Tender ribeye steak, melted provolone cheese, and caramelized grilled onions on soft Hawaiian rolls create an irresistible game day appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ribeye steak, thinly sliced

12 Hawaiian slider rolls

6 slices provolone cheese

2 large yellow onions, sliced

1/4 cup garlic mayonnaise

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare slider rolls

2. Slice onions into 1/4 inch rings and brush with olive oil

3. Grill onions over medium heat for 15-20 minutes until caramelized

4. Season thinly sliced ribeye with salt and pepper

5. Quickly sear ribeye in hot pan for 2-3 minutes

6. Spread garlic mayonnaise on bottom half of rolls

7. Layer ribeye, grilled onions, and provolone cheese

8. Top with remaining roll halves

9. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes

10. Remove foil and bake additional 10 minutes until golden

Notes

For best results, freeze ribeye for 30 minutes before slicing for paper-thin cuts

Vidalia onions can substitute for yellow onions for milder flavor

Cheez Whiz or American cheese work as alternatives to provolone

Sliders can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving
