Ingredients
1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
2 medium sweet potatoes, cooked and mashed
1 cup mini marshmallows
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp brown sugar
4 brioche hamburger buns
Optional: bacon, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato
Instructions
1. Poke holes in sweet potatoes and microwave for 8-10 minutes until tender. Let cool, then peel and mash with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.
2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, finely chopped onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix gently to avoid overworking.
3. Form turkey mixture into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than buns as they will shrink when cooking.
4. Heat grill or large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 5-6 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
5. Toast brioche buns lightly on grill or in toaster.
6. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, turkey patty, generous spoonful of sweet potato mixture, mini marshmallows, and any desired toppings.
7. Serve immediately while marshmallows are gooey and burgers are hot.
Notes
For best results, make sweet potato mixture ahead of time and reheat gently before serving.
Turkey patties can be formed up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerated.
