Description

Sweet, sticky, and spicy, this swicy bacon glaze adds restaurant-level flavor using maple syrup, sriracha, and brown sugar.

Ingredients

Scale

6 slices thick-cut bacon

2 tbsp real maple syrup (Grade A Dark)

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tbsp sriracha

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

1 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

1. Lay bacon strips on a paper towel and pat dry completely.

2. Let bacon sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.

3. Add bacon to a cold pan. Turn heat to medium-high and cook until 80% done.

4. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tbsp in the pan.

5. In a bowl, mix syrup, sugar, sriracha, vinegar, and butter.

6. Brush glaze over bacon while it’s sizzling.

7. Flip and brush other side. Cook 2–3 minutes each side until caramelized.

8. Remove from pan and place on rack to cool and crisp.

Notes

Use thick-cut bacon for best results.

Let glaze reduce and caramelize without burning.

Try different hot sauces or add a splash of bourbon for variations.
