Description
This Texas Roadhouse butter chicken skillet delivers restaurant-quality flavor with tender chicken pieces in a rich, creamy butter sauce. Perfect for weeknight dinners and family gatherings.
Ingredients
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Optional: 1 cup mixed vegetables (bell peppers, mushrooms, spinach)
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat
2. Season chicken pieces with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper
3. Add chicken to hot skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown
4. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside
5. In the same skillet, melt butter and add chicken broth and honey
6. Bring mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes
7. Stir in heavy cream and return chicken to skillet
8. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until chicken is heated through and sauce thickens
9. Add vegetables if using and cook for 2-3 minutes
10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately
Notes
For best results, use a cast iron skillet for even heat distribution
Don’t overcrowd the skillet – cook chicken in batches if necessary
Let chicken rest for 2-3 minutes before serving to retain juices
Sauce can be made ahead and reheated gently
Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 3-4 days
