Description

The Bacon Banana Bomber is a unique sandwich that combines crispy applewood-smoked bacon with caramelized bananas on toasted artisan bread. This Elvis-inspired creation delivers the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

6 slices thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon

2 ripe but firm bananas, sliced

4 slices artisan bread

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons honey (optional)

2 tablespoons peanut butter (optional)

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook thick-cut bacon in a large skillet over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until crispy and golden brown

2. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels, reserve 1 tablespoon bacon fat in pan

3. Slice bananas into 1/4-inch rounds

4. Add banana slices to the same skillet with bacon fat and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until caramelized

5. Toast artisan bread slices until golden brown

6. Spread optional peanut butter on one slice of bread if using

7. Layer crispy bacon on the bread

8. Add caramelized banana slices on top of bacon

9. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup if desired

10. Sprinkle with cinnamon if using

11. Top with second slice of bread and serve immediately

Notes

For best results, use thick-cut bacon for maximum crispiness and flavor

Choose bananas that are ripe but still firm to prevent mushiness when caramelizing

Artisan bread like brioche or cinnamon raisin adds extra flavor complexity

Can be served for breakfast, brunch, or lunch
