Description

Indulge in the rich, molten center of these elegant chocolate lava cakes, perfect for a romantic evening.

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 large eggs

2 large egg yolks

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar for dusting

Vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).

2. Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.

3. Melt the butter and chocolate chips in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until thick and pale.

5. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.

6. Gently fold in flour and salt until just combined.

7. Divide the batter among the prepared ramekins.

8. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is soft.

9. Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates and dust with powdered sugar.

10. Serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For an extra touch, add a raspberry sauce or fresh berries on the side.

Ensure not to overbake for that perfect molten center.
