Description

Transform your brunch with this innovative Grilled Donut BLT featuring sweet glazed donuts, crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and spicy jalapeño mayo. This unique sandwich combines breakfast and lunch flavors for an unforgettable culinary experience.

Ingredients

Scale

4 glazed donuts (yeast-raised preferred)

8 slices thick-cut bacon

1 large ripe tomato, sliced

4 fresh lettuce leaves

1/2 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons diced fresh jalapeños

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon butter for grilling

Instructions

1. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain.

2. Make jalapeño mayo by combining mayonnaise, diced jalapeños, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix well and set aside.

3. Slice donuts in half horizontally to create top and bottom pieces.

4. Heat grill or cast-iron skillet to medium-low heat. Lightly butter the cut sides of the donuts.

5. Grill donut halves cut-side down for 30-45 seconds until golden brown and slightly crispy. Do not over-grill.

6. Spread jalapeño mayo generously on the grilled side of donut bottoms.

7. Layer with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and crispy bacon.

8. Top with remaining donut halves, grilled side facing down.

9. Serve immediately while donuts are still warm.

Notes

Choose sturdy glazed donuts that can hold up to grilling without falling apart.

Adjust jalapeño quantity based on desired spice level – remove seeds for milder heat.

For vegetarian option, substitute bacon with plant-based alternatives or grilled vegetables.

Best served immediately while donuts are warm and crispy.

Store leftover jalapeño mayo in refrigerator for up to 1 week.
