Description

A spooky and delicious Halloween burger featuring a beef patty infused with pumpkin puree and topped with crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, and a sweet and spicy ghost pepper glaze. Crafted for discerning home chefs seeking restaurant-quality Halloween entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef (20% fat content)

1 cup canned pumpkin puree

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

4 slices thick-cut bacon

4 slices sharp cheddar cheese

4 hamburger buns

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tbsp ghost pepper hot sauce

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, pumpkin puree, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.

2. Form the mixture into 4 patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.

3. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. In a small saucepan, combine ketchup, ghost pepper hot sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.

5. Heat grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness.

6. In the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and let melt.

7. Toast hamburger buns lightly if desired.

8. Assemble burgers: bottom bun, cheese-topped patty, bacon strips, ghost pepper glaze drizzle, and top bun.

9. Optional: Use a small knife to carve jack-o’-lantern faces in the cheese before serving.

10. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

For milder heat, reduce ghost pepper hot sauce to 1 tablespoon or substitute with your preferred hot sauce.

The pumpkin puree keeps the burgers incredibly moist – don’t skip this ingredient!

For best results, let the ghost pepper glaze cool slightly before drizzling to achieve the perfect consistency.

These burgers pair perfectly with sweet potato fries and autumn-spiced beverages.
