Description

Crispy, cheesy maple bacon mozzarella bombs made with pillowy biscuit dough, gooey mozzarella, and crispy bacon. These irresistible appetizers are ready in just 20 minutes and perfect for parties, game day, or any gathering. The sweet maple glaze perfectly complements the savory bacon and melted cheese for an unforgettable flavor combination that will have your guests asking for the recipe!

Ingredients

Scale

1 tube (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)

8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes

8 strips thick-cut bacon, cooked until crispy and chopped

3 tablespoons pure maple syrup

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (optional)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Cook bacon strips in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to paper towels and chop into small pieces.

3. Remove biscuit dough from tube and separate into 8 individual biscuits.

4. Gently flatten each biscuit with your palm to create a 4-inch circle.

5. Place a cube of mozzarella and 1-2 teaspoons of chopped bacon in the center of each flattened biscuit.

6. Carefully fold the edges of the biscuit up and around the filling, pinching and sealing the seams tightly to prevent leaking.

7. Place sealed bombs seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.

8. In a small bowl, mix maple syrup with melted butter. Brush the tops of each bomb with the maple butter mixture.

9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

10. Remove from oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with chives, garlic powder, or red pepper flakes if desired.

Notes

Make sure to seal the biscuit dough tightly around the filling to prevent cheese from leaking during baking.

For extra crispy bacon, pre-cook it until slightly underdone, then it will finish crisping in the oven.

These bombs are best served immediately while the cheese is still gooey and hot.

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.

You can prepare these ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking.

Try substituting turkey bacon for a lighter version, or use plant-based cheese for a vegetarian option.

For extra flavor, add herbs like basil, thyme, or oregano to the filling.

Double the recipe for larger gatherings – these always disappear quickly!
