Description
A delicious and spicy twist on a classic burger, featuring a juicy beef patty, melted pepper jack cheese, and a fresh roasted hatch pepper relish.
Ingredients
• 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
• 4 slices pepper jack cheese
• 4 burger buns
• 2 roasted hatch peppers, diced
• 1/2 cup mayo
• 1 tbsp hot sauce (or to taste)
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• 1 tsp onion powder
• Salt and pepper to taste
• Lettuce, tomato, and onion for toppings
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
2. 2. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
3. 3. Divide the beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
4. 4. Cook patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
5. 5. Place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
6. 6. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the hatch pepper relish by mixing diced roasted hatch peppers with mayo and hot sauce in a bowl.
7. 7. Toast burger buns on the grill or skillet until golden.
8. 8. Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bottom bun, adding lettuce, tomato, and onion, then topping with the hatch pepper relish.
9. 9. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For extra spice, add more hot sauce to the relish or top with jalapeños.
You can also use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner option.
